July still the only winning month for the Mets, but a win tonight will finish it off at a not-entirely-wretched 14-15. A loss and were about as good as May.

Wheeler vs. Dan Haren, who sucks, and whom we owe a beating.

Going with an outfield of Young-Den Dekker (CF) and Largares (RF), t'Ravis batting fifth.

Young
Muffy
Satin 3B
Davis 1B
dArnaud
Lagares RF
DenDekker CF
Squinty
Wheeler

Finally, got both crazy "d" guy-names in the same lineup. And by "finally," I mean after a few days.

I like that he's exploring a little bit with the two-centerfielder formation and whatnot. This adventurousness... it's... exciting.

I haven't been this excited since Beltran and Cameron both went after the same ball!

(Gotta stop defaulting to the worst possible precedent.)

Washington's fading wild card chances rest tonight on these slender shoulders:

Span 8
Zimmerman 5
Harper 7
Werth 9
Desmond 6
LaRoche 3
Ramos 2
Lombardozzi 4
Haren 1

Must be nice to be able to run the same starting eight out there almost every night.
- Only Lombardozzi in for Rendon is a deviation from their usual set-up
- Only Rendon in for Espinosa is a change from how they drew it up last winter.
- Only Harper and his approx month-long knee problem plus Ramos being in and out during various spans have missed any appreciable time the whole season.

And yet, somehow through all of that, the Mets have outscored the Nats by four runs this year in one fewer game.

Hey, danger's sexy, too. Just slap some of those alternate-Saturday-night blue-and-orange jumpsuits on 'em, and crank the Monster Magnet dubstep remix, and you've got Jackass Night, motherfathers!

By the by, this is some great pain medication my friend gave me.

There goes Ike. Sheesh. Intercoastal and it looked painful. Only the fact that we have many to see at first makes me feel anything good about this.

Good game here. Mets up 4-0 and playing exciting, yes, exciting baseball.

As a USF Bull, I'm not fond of the Florida Gators, to put it mildly. But I'll make an exception for Matt den Dekker.

The other d' with his first hit in the history of M.L. baseball, an RBI bloop single.
5-0

Wow. 6 runs in the 3rd. I'll be very happy when the Nats are home watching post season play along with us :)

8-0 Mets

I'm provisionally pretending this is payback for the sweep at Shea in September 2007.

The Nats destroyed the Mets' hopes and now the Mets are destroying the Nats' hopes.

And eye for an eye is sad!

Whatever works. Seeing a lil giddyup on Wheelers high heat. lil bit.

Hope Lucas embraces the confidence the organization might show in him by reluctantly allowing him to temporary replace the .205-hitting first baseman in whom they have limited faith.

So many media outlets say they'll shy away from making reference to the Redskins this fall. I imagine there'll be no similar soul-searching needed regarding the use of "Nationals" come October.

Honestly, I'm as thrilled-- maybe more-- when my boy's walking as when he's putting wood on it.

O, was that nice.

See, two-run single there. They could have pinch-run Turner for Murphy or Satin, but they just don't care about re-familiarizing him with the plate.
