Hefner is a pitcher with not as much raw ability but throws strikes. Wheeler has plus pitches all over the place and can be a little more wild. The Phillies like to swing, and hence hit Hefner's pitches in the zone.

they will be MEAT tomorrow with Wheeler. 3 hits off Wheeler in 8 innings.

Byrd drives in another run. Hamels looks like he's got nothing.

No problem with the Mets getting a cheezy hit once in a while. 2-1 Mets, bases loaded and one out.

Hamels induces the easy DP grounder from Recker, but Young's double-clutch allows Recker to beat it out. 3-1 Mets.

Playing catchup. Looking to see how we scored. Did this really happen to start the game?:

Eric Young : Ball, Strike looking, Young grounded bunt out to center.

Gary describes Ruf as "kind of like a Lucas Duda type playing left field." That may be a textbook example of slander.

Thank you. You can't trust technology. Ill assume they didn't screw up the Rollins lead off KaPhoom. We slapped Hamels right back in the first. Nice.

If they're going to hit someone I'd rather they plunk Rollins instead.

Pretty funny, don't know why I typed b's. Robbins the actor
is a big Mets' fan ... can't be plunkin' fans.

Wheeler only had one quick inning. Over 100 pitches now. Another jam to pitch out of. Bear down Zack.

Luke is usually in Section 311. Say hi to him the next time you're there - he's a character in the best sense of the word :)

Let's hope the bullpen shows some character right now....

You just loaded the bases, rook ... get off the field quicker,
without the puss, and sit down and figure out how to do
better next time.
