Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Tim Lincecum takes the vague memory of his two Cy Young awards and the recent sting of his 4-9, 4.66 season record to the hill to face the surging Mets, led by the oft-nekkid but rarely exposed Matt Harvey. The game starts at 10:15 Eastern time, which will please A Boy Named Seo but cause us Easterners to be sleep-deprived and crabby at work tomorrow. I assure you that no one in my office will notice the difference. Not to step on the KTE, but the Giants are 5-16 since June 15, and the Mets are 13-9 since being shit on by Bob Costas on June 16 (well, including the cause de crapola, the walk-off slam game). 13-9 may not sound like much, but this ain't football where teams go 14-2 on a fairly regular basis. A 13-9 pace will win you 95.7 games, and that's a pretty good three week stretch. The key, of course, is converting that .3 game.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Ah, the old "Eff" designation.Meanwhile, Mike Krukow coming on, looking like a slightly older Steve Phillips.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 EY's coming. Hide your hearts, girls.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Mets go in order in the first. It's hard to accept that they Mets could be favored in a matchup against Tim Lincecum.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Nice open Swan. No Mattman comic. Too early to say it was jinxin' him but I'm not taking any chances. Comic is 0-2.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Nieuwie looks comfortable going back, and this is a park that holds the ball.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Park didn't hold that. Can we stop talking about who starts the All Star Game and worry about winning the game?
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 (edited) This is beginning to remind me of what happened to David Cone when he wrote a column for the 1988 playoffs. Edited July 8, 2013 by Guest
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Are the Harveys called Kormans or Kormen?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Matt Harvey should stop begging for attention and start pitching well for a change. This guy is RA Dickey without the brainpower, vocabulary or charitable nature.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Hello, I'm Lieutenant J.C. Lunchbucket, Hubris Enforcement Squad.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 To be fair, Harv DOES give a lot to Arab charities, indirectly.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Plus, pretty charitable to ex-teammates, apparently.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 That's 50 pitches through two innings.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 And 17 pitches for the 8th and 9th hitters. But hey-- at least he's doing the little things right with the bat.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Seaver would have gotten the bunt down. And wore pants.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 And a nice one to his left. Harvey back on track, hopefully. Now it's time to put some points on the board.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 I did have a little trouble making out what Keith was saying that last half-inning, what with SugarPants' figurative penis all up in his mouth.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Somebody's teaching a clinic tonight, and it's not Harvey.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Yeah, maybe it's my bleary eyes, but I'm not seeing any command issues here.
