Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Very righty heavy.I get Terry's Turnerlove, even if mine is not quite that strong, but I just don't get batting him fifth.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Tonight's game is so important, it's not televised in Pittsburgh.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 They could have gone all righthanded by putting Recker at first and Turner at second. The Buccos, interestingly enough, end up quite the opposite, with an all-righthanded bench.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Dillon Gee...act as if you deserve an MLB starting spot.I like the lineup..

Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 The second-most arrogant Ump in baseball just cost the Mets a baserunner. Bite me, Joe West.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Shit. Turner was safe, called out trying to stretch a single to a double. Too close to complain, and a bad gamble.Byrds sac fly plates Bucky. 1-0 Mets.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Buck scores on Byrd'd sac fly. I coulda scored the Snider airmailed that one..tee-hee

Another horrible call by an umpire. Nothing from Shorty and nothing from the writers on Twitter. It's like bad calls are an accepted part of the game and there's nothing that can be done.

It's like bad calls are an accepted part of the game and there's nothing that can be done. That wasn't a horrendously bad call. And its possible Turner lost contact with the bag for a milisec (his first toe touch beat the tag, which was high). Not defending West. Just sayin.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 No, it wasn't Angel Hernandez bad but it was wrong and Joe West is paid to get the call right. I'm sick of hearing about "the human element" and how it's "part of the game." If they don't do their job right, fire them. The Mets are bad enough on their own without Joe West and Tim McLelland hurting them.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Are we gonna give it right back? Are we? Really?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Not that big a surprise.Check out Buckles hitting it hard the other way.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Not particularly hard-hit hits for the Bucs. Double play finishes them here.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 He'd be a starter on my softball team. Keep gettin that boy at bats!
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Andrew Brown brings to mind very fond thinkery about Cowbell.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Maybe a half a cup of coffee will make this a nail-biter. *yawn*
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 First and third for the Bucs, no out. Bear down Gee.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Had a feeling coming in to this inning that it wasn't going to end well. That the Noffense is leaving the hurlers with no margin for error isn't helping things.
