2013 IPP: Jeremy Hefner

I figure that the more starts that Jeremy Hefner gets, the worse the season is going to be.

I'll say that he'll get five big league starts, and about ten appearances in relief for the Mets. He'll pitch more innings in Las Vegas than in New York.

Yeah, more Hef is more bad.

1-3, 5.35, 24.67 IP, 15/10, 7 G, 4 GS

McHugh may push him for the spot-starter/long-relief/12th-man role.
Frankly, i'd prefer anybody to him.

He'll start the season with the big club, as a provisional starter. I sure as hell hope he ain't ending it there.

Why are we so down on Hefner? Because he's a softish throwing righty and no one likes those?

I'll say he makes 6 spot starts, and 40 innings in relief to a tune of a 4.2 ERA (inflated by bad start or two, 3.5 ERA in relief), 40 K, and only 14 walks. Helpful part of the bullpen in long relief.
