Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 This is from the brilliant "1977 TWIB Recaps" at Amazin Avenue. Quoth the article:We also see Lee Mazzilli of the Mets make a great running catch and crash into the center field fence of an unidentifiable stadium (the Mets are in away in unis). Is this Dodger Stadium? If so it's also the game that Bruce Boisclair dropped a foul fly ball by Davey Lopes that would have ended the game with 3-2 win. Instead, Lopes' turn at-bat continues and he hits a 3-run walkoff HR. That's the kinda thing an 11 year old doesn't forget.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 It's definitely not spring training?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Yeah, I was also thinking that it might be a Florida ballpark. Some long-gone spring training facility like Pompano Beach or something.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I should have included the link to the article, it recaps an episode of the show reviewing a week late July, 1977. Now I know some footage in those shows were sketchy, but there wouldn't be a whole lot of Maz footage out there by then and probably no reason to include old stuff. What interested me was the weird angle. Dodger Stadium does have a narrow opening between grandstands I think that's what we see here.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 I'm not a betting man but if I was, I'd bet that is Dodger Stadium as well.
