Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 What, no giant Seaver to join Fisk, Baines and Kittle?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 That is truly bizarre. The Mets should totally do something like that. Giant caricatures of Seaver and Strawberry and Hernandez and Piazza roaming around the ballpark.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 That would be weird. A large Staten Island with feet running around in the outfield.

metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 isn't it obvious? skyline runners. you get people dressed as representative foam skyscrapers from the logo. maybe even get some poor guy dressed as a bridge.

Get it so at the start they're arranged on the field to look like the Mets logo.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Or take a pass on a played-out attraction and do something original for a sideshow. Ice fishing or rhythm gymnastics. Give two kids remote controls to operate giant Rock 'Em Sock 'Em RobotsYou know what would be fun? A name-that-Met contest. Do they ever do that? Put a big ol' baseball card on the scoreboard and redact the name and position. Start with a Mets Hall of Famer, or an obvious contemporary figure and then get more and more obscure. Topps could sponsor it.

Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I'd like to see the team adopt a house band that sits in the outfield seats with their guitars, bass, drums, etc. and plays rally a versatile set of music that's relevant to the game as well as establishing some in-game standards that resonate with the crowd.

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I had fun with this before, and came up with an idea that pays tribute to Shea: Cats! (Or people in cats costumes) They can have cool Metsie names.http://metsguyinmichigan.blogspot.com/2010/02/when-competition-is-two-foods-and-fraud.html
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 I like your cats idea.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Updated from the blog: The way I see it, we could have giant mascot cats, each named after a beloved Mets player of the past. Youd have Mookie running against Choo-Choo, Casey, Rusty, Tug and Mikey.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Nice white-guy hands on Harold Baines.

It didn't stir much excitement.
