Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Cliff Floyd looking unrecognizeably skinny in his shorts and sanitaries.Way to check in at your rookie playing weight.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I don't know who this guy is but he's providing daily updates from Fantasy Camp:http://www.theplayerspoint.com/THEPLAYERSPOINT/METS_FANTASY_CAMP/METS_FANTASY_CAMP.htmlNot as good as mine from 2009 but still worthwhile. Terry's there, probably to teach bunting. Or to find an outfielder.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Mark Rosenmann, same guy who gave us those interviews with Eric Hillman and Doug Flynn after attending a previous fantasy camp.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 I like to think it wasn't broken.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I really, really need to do this someday.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 I'd take out the -ish. Expensive as a space suit.Does any of the money go to charity?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 How much does it cost?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 $4,395 (same price as in 2009). That includes your flights, ground transportation, room (at double occupancy--you can upgrade), breakfast, lunch, two dinners, two real uniforms and equipment.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I did it in 2002. Most fun you can have with your clothes on. Worth every overpriced penny.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 It doesn't sound too horribly overpriced. It's not the kind of thing that I'd personally be interested in, but if I was I'd be willing to pony up $4400, especially since it includes airfare. (I'm curious, does that just mean airfare from the continental U.S.? What if I was a Mets fan living in Japan or Korea, for instance? If that's a fixed worldwide airfare, then international participants can be getting a real bargain!)
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 17, 2013 Author Posted January 17, 2013 I'd take a trip to Korea just to get the camp to pay for the trip back.

I flew on my own from Maryland and got a travel credit (they still picked me up at the airport).
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 One of the high points of my life is grounding out to short off Bob Apodaca.Because 1) I have it on tape, and 2) I pulled the ball.
