Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 Nice. It's on my Christmas list, for sure.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2012 Posted December 1, 2012 Greg was a guest on the Dino Costa Show last night on Sirius XM's "Mad Dog Radio." If you have Sirius XM and pay for online listening, you can listen to the show via the "on demand" feature and advance to about the 1:50 mark. It's a terrific interview.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 From the Member Promotion thread, if I may, since it's Metsian as much as me:I'll be reading from and discussing The Happiest Recap at the Varsity Letters sports literature series downtown Thursday night (5/9). The place is Le Poisson Rouge, 158 Bleecker St., between Thompson and Sullivan (adjacent to several subway lines). I'm on the bill with the guy who wrote the book revealing Lenny Dykstra is not the All-American Boy. May be another speaker as well.Details here:http://www.gelfmagazine.com/gelflog/arc ... riters.phpDirections here:http://www.lepoissonrouge.com/location/Would love to see anybody who can make it. Thanks.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2013 Posted May 8, 2013 Q&A with Gelf Magazine here; includes shout-out to site close to all of our hearts/minds (as does the book itself).

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 More such talk, handsomely illustrated, this time with Alex Belth of Bronx Banter, the only man who could use "pernt" for point unironically and have it come off as literary. Our fandom (anybodys fandom, really) is so much more than the agreed-upon milestones. Its the big inning were all talking about the next morning or the rookie who came up to pitch a shutout and then disappeared or the quirky game where all 17 hits were singles. Its firsts and lasts and lots of in-betweens. Its the championships and superstars, too, of course, but its also the moments of contention that fizzled and the stage being set for great things and the residual fumes on the other side of those great things and the games and players who got us through the rough times. Its everything, if youre a steadfast fan of a team.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 Mets-related, so here, too:Wednesday night, June 26, 7 PM, I'll be discussing The Happiest Recap at the fabulous Bergino Baseball Clubhouse, E. 11th St. between Broadway and University Place. Mets-White Sox on the relatively big screen afterwards. Hope to see some of you.

Which certainly beats giving a talk at the Benigno Baseball Clubhouse. They may root for the Mets at that place, but mostly they just sit around saying; "Is it football season yet?"
