Poking around the awesome UMDB yesterday I found a some obscuria of various levels that I thought might work themselves into a little quiz. Please answer all 10 questions. I'll leave the quiz up for a few hours, and the 'Pooler with the most correct answers wins a $10 gift certificate to Robert Hall, where it's always back-to-school time.

I didn't use my thinking on this one.

But since the Mets played their first ever series against the Cards, I think Boyer may have been the first future Met to homer against the Mets.

Also, I'm glad to hear that my website was useful to you. In the last day or so I've been wondering if I want to continue to maintain it, and it's good to be reminded that there are people out there who use it.

And that reminds me, I still have to finish off the Schaefer stuff for 2012.

Mitchell is the correct answer to the 'former Met' question.

Oh, and as far as the site being useful, it's not just for hacky quizzes. I'm out there all the time.

Am I losing my mind or was your answer to this question originally simply "Ken Boyer"?

Yeah, I doubled back. I got this edit button.

OK, time to put this one to rest:

First Official Save by a Met - Nolan Ryan, game 2 of the 1969 season

First Met to hit a Home Run as a DH - Matt Franco, vs. the Orioles in the seventh game the Mets played in an AL park in 1997

First (and only) Met to hit 200 doubles in one calendar decade (not just a 10-year span) - David Wright, 222 in the 2000s despite the late start

First Met to score 100 runs in a season - Tommie Agee, 107 in 1970

First Met to play 162 games in a season - Felix Millan played them all in 1975 (probably the only one I would have known myself)

First Met to get a hit in a foreign country - Ed Kranepool, a homer as the fifth Mets batter at Parc Jarry

First future Met to homer against the Mets - Ken Boyer hit a couple in the sixth game of the 1962 season

First (and only) Met to play 1,000 games in one calendar decade - Mookie Wilson, 1,116 in the 1980s

First future Met to win an MVP award - Yogi Berra, in 1951. Yogi and Willie Mays both won in 1954

First Met to get a post-season hit - Art Shamsky singled leading off the second after the Mets went down 1-2-3 in the first inning of their first NLCS game vs. Atlanta

Edgy and Ben got four each, once Edgy unmuddled the syntax of my question. JCL with one correct.

Yup. They started against the Cardinals for one game, played a few against Pittsburgh, then St. Louis again.
