Guest Kong76 Guests Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I'm gonna turn it off, ya know someone is gonna hit a line drive to right field and win it and TheOtherJoe will be genius.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 The Opponents hit more grounders with full swings that wind up being hit too shitty to be turned in DPs than any team I've ever seen.I don't know how they do it but they do it all the time. That's two by Cano just tonight.

Jeter hits more infield squibs than anyone in baseball (Excepting maybe Ichiro) somehow they are just slow enough to not be playable.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Do you guys remember when Ibanez was debated on the forums as a potential Mets FA acquisition? As I recall it the so-called seamheads were strongly against such an investment but don;t recall the argument (or the year). It would have been the 2000-01 offseason or perhaps the 2002-03.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Four innings pitched in four games for Darren O'Day, no hits, no walks. Sigh.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I remember it [the Ibanez talk].He was one of those guys seemingly "destined" to be a Met for a while.I don't think it was as early as you say. For a couple years there were talks about trades with Seattle and then again prior to his FA signing w/Philly but that Philly deal was 2009 so I think most of the talk was around '05 and later. He was always a good though somewhat anonymous player out in Seattle but I also imagined the outcry if Omar had signed or traded for a mid-30s guy with a Spanish name.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I can't affect the outcome of this game but that doesn't mean I have to watch it end. Switching to DET-OAK game while Opponent hits.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I'll keep you up to date.Opponent shorstop phony rolls over on the first pitch and grounds weekly to third.Opponent Japanese carpetbagger first-pitch swings also and bounces out first. Two pitches, two out.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Opponent Golddigger Firstbaseman takes the first two pitches. Not close either time. 2-0.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Firstbasedude ahead 3-0. Oh-deah lays a strike in there.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Ball four.Opponent secondbaseman-who-they-tried-over-and-over-to-trade stands in.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Mr. Everybody-I-Work-Out-With-Juices takes a curve for strike one.Big swing and a miss at the high fastball. Two-strike count.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 I hope this is where the Orioles gain an advantage, having outlasted Soriano and Robertson.
