Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 So the Phils started dumping players such as Victorino & Pence at the end of July and August promptly becomes their best month of the year (15-10)Go figure.Tues - 7:05 Young vs Worley 96-9; 4.06; 1.49] ... certainly not matching his surprise rookie year effectivenessWed - 7:05 Harvey vs Hamels [14-6; 2.99; 1.12] ... CY-caliber yearThurs - 1:05 Niese vs Kendrick [7-9; 4.12; 1.35] ... will be his 19th start of the season mixed in with 12 relief appearances
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 They're finally letting Domonic Brown play, 100PA, and he's doing okay. (.270/.343/.382) I don't know why he has 2 o's in his name. That's a pretty low slugging for CBP, but small sample still. His middle name is Larun.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Now that Shane Victorino has been traded, it will be interesting to see who jumps to the top of our "I'd like to give that annoying Phillie punk a cup check with a sledgehammer" list.Later

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Brown's missed the last two games with a sore left knee.More importantly, Calos Ruiz remains on the shelf with a strained oblique and (more importantly) a foot injury. Considering how their whole lineup got old all at once, and they're far from the race, they're in no hurry to rush their All-Star catcher back.Catching and hitting well is a guy named Erik Kratz. He's got a rep as an instigator and wears number 31. Unclear whether that's a Mike Piazza tribute.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I'd like to think that it's a Harry Parker tribute.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2012 Author Posted August 28, 2012 Both Brown and Polanco have been out recently but not DL'd. Both are possible for tonight and for the series. The other familiar face missing is catcher Brian SchneiderSo catching these days is the combo of Kratz (see above) and the just called-up Steven Lerud who actually hasn't seen action yet.1B thru SS are the rejoined combo of Howard, Utley & Rollins with occasional helpings of Michael Martinez & Ty Wigginton3B has been mostly Kevin Fransden who is somehow hitting .351/.402/.426and the OF a mixture of Mayberry, Brown, Pierre and whichever Nix isn't on the YanxAnd it should be noted that this crew just swept the Nationals.

Toss him a bag of flour and his knees will crumble like dust.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 I know they can go phuck themselves, Victorinoless or otherwise.
