Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Keep in mind, this is a guy who will talk for hours about politics, or horses, or the Oscars.Essentially, it's the "polite" way to say, "I don't need or want to talk about this gay crap."

SI going to reveal this this week inI don't know whyI guess a dramatic attempt to sell a magazine, I guess.[...]I have the story here and I'm not compelled to run and talk about it or read it. I really don't care. I can't be any more honest. I don't care.Translation: I didn't have the scoop
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 "I can't be compelled to read it because, well, frankly, why read? I mean... outside of menus, what's the point?"What a lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy man.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 At the risk of sounding snarkophobic, what does Deadspin hope to get out of Francessa except to hear him embarrass himself on this topic?
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 I don't think that's the point, exactly-- it's more, here's the guy, and of course this is how he reacted to this.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 More solid gold from Francesa.........http://deadspin.com/mike-francesa-really-could-not-give-less-of-a-shit-abou-509330285I didn't put this in the more relevant soccer thread because a lot of you are like Mike and could care less about soccer and don't visit that thread......and then you would have missed it
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 while i happen to share his disinterest in soccer, he is the one with a sports talk show, and excluding discussion of a major sport just cuz he's not interested in (ie, he knows nothing about) it is the equivalent of malpractice.

Even if its' in a "does anyone care about soccer and will they go?" way. on the other hand, I'd put it about golf, tennis and horse racing and he talks plenty about those.more hockey though.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 About 1/3 of baseball coverage-- mostly, the old-timey stuff-- could be categorized as "sports malpractice."Also, Major League Soccer may not, in and of itself, be major. It probably won't ever be.American soccer interest in general, however (esp. re: major Euro leagues/world tournaments)? Mid-major and climbing.
