You knew that run was going to be cashed in ... and you knew it was unlikely to be via an actual hit.
But at least this time we held the bunter to only 1 base.

Gee, and I wonder why we're having trouble scoring.

Who's we, exactly? I'm doing just fine.

Oh, wait, you're talking about baseball. My bad.

Which Ramirez is this, the shitty one? Or the other shitty one?

I hat you, relief corps. Whither goest thou, Cookie and Turk?

the shitty one that used to be good, not the shitty one that we don't know if he can be good yet.

Whats Tejada's at bat music? I can never make it out. Almost sounds like Echo And The Bunnymen.

If they ever make a movie about this team, it's gonna be called True Lack of Grit

Yea, and before the ALL Star break the players could wear one eye-patch and overachieve, and after the break they can wear two eye-patches, one over each eye, and do jack.

Just a tie in to Garys Mad talk.

I've never seen a team hit fewer balls hard (or even sort-of hard) than this one over the last two-three weeks.
Five hits today, none were particularly hard, 4 were singles, 2 of those were by the pitcher, and the double was a soft bloop over 1st base.
And it's not like the outs have been well-struck or the result of great defense from the other side.

Somebody exchange the bats for wet rolled-up newspapers?

Two well-hit balls in a row. A portent?

lol.I really did lol for that^. Hey, there's a run! Now all this means to me now is that we will give them back another next inning, but it's something.

Well back-to-back hits (both hard too!!) cuts the deficit in half.
Note that this doesn't increase our chance of winning, it merely increases the odds that a different reliever will get absorb the loss.

Adam Rubin ?@AdamRubinESPN
Frank Francisco will be the closer next season. He's owed $6.5 million in 2013.

He will get the opportunity to redeem himself (or at least justify a roster spot) because the money is a sunk cost, but I have to think/hope the leash will be extremely short if he can't do better than this.

The sad part is that, when Gary says that they just need another base-runner to bring the tying run to the plate, you say; "Yeah, so what? We've got no one on this team that can hit the ball out of the park anyway!"

This team's a fucking disgrace.

I wonder if Ceetar still thinks that signing Bay was a better idea than signing Holliday?

1) Throw the fucking pitch on time
2) if you don't, first time warning ... second time ejection

Now THAT would get these pitchers from fucking around like this.
It would also end Papelbon's career, so it's a win-win situation.
