Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I turned it off when Valdespin bellyflopped into first base. Even my kid's douchy MFY loving little league coach knows... they teach Fboy not to slide into first, and he didn't do it once all year. He's 7. What's your excuse, Jordany?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I didn't see the play, but there's a place for the slide into first.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 He was trying to win a footrace to the bag, it wasn't the dumbest thing ever. Credit to whoeverthefuck was playing first base for them, it was nicely executed defensively.Of the 9 names in the Colorado column on the scoreboard last night, I knew the first name of only one of them -- Dexter Fowler. Their pitcher was wearing No. 6. That's pretty weird.I'm trying to eat less so eschewed the new steak sandwich, the pulled pork, the Shackburger, etc and settled for a Shake-Cago Dog (and fries, and 3 beers, and popcorn. Oh well, I tried). The point is, the dog was pretty good. The Mets fucking suck.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Meanwhile, the Jonathan Herrera bunt/error which essentially lost the game for us was also a head-first slide into 1st.My conclusion is that head-first slides tend to work so much better when the defense makes bad plays as opposed to when they make good ones.

I leave for Amsterdam on 9/13. The Mets have 21 games. The Giants open the season on the 12th.Do the Giants score more points before I leave?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Great seats last night courtesy of a friend, btw. It allowed us to get up close and personal with Kelly Shoppach's dogshit whiff as a pinch hitter which basically ruined Dickey's chances for a win.
