This is David's third win of the year. He only hit .255 in July, but had 7 home runs and 21 rbi.The Pitcher of the Month is JON NIESE, ending a six-month streak by R.A. Dickey. It wasn't a great month for Mets pitchers, or for the Mets at all. Niese was 1-2 in five starts, with a 4.63 ERA. It's the second time he has been Pitcher of the Month. The Schaefer Mets Relief Pitcher of the Month is a first-time winner, JOSH EDGIN. Bobby had a 2.70 ERA in July over 11 games. He struck out 18 batters in 10 innings. The Schaefer Mets Bench Player of the Month for July is, by a wide margin, JORDANNY VALDESPIN. Jordanny, with his knack for pinch homers, earned 9.03 points in July in games in which he was not in the starting lineup. He finished comfortably ahead of Daniel Murphy's 1,88 points. G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 That's the most personality Jon Niese has ever shown anywhere, and it took Grimm to pull it out of him.I get the sense the other winners pulled back their high-fiving arms from the rook (Edgin going along with veteran peer pressure) to continue to teach Jordany some lesson in conformity.Aside from being incredibly attractive, the '74 Valdespin is considered valuable in collecting circles for its misspelling of his first name.(And, oh, how the Johan had fallen in July of 2012!)
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 The first of a few for our man EdgyDos, I 'spect.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Pretty tough for Moiph to hit .360 and come in fourth.
Chad ochoseis Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 The Gee-Harvey spot in the rotation kicked some Schaefer ass, even if neither pitcher was in the running on his own.

And thanks! My bad on the spelling error, but it does seem like something that Topps might have done in 1974, so I kinda like it!
