Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Jason Bay looks the test case for the discussion between Vic and Ceetar about whether a random person could hit major league pitching.

Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Since they showed the play that inspired these strips:The real kicker here is that these ran over a month apart.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Good time for some anti-lefty magic, Bay.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Rubin reminds us that this is the umpiring crew that bollixed up the series in Atlanta.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 I got Ronny Cedeno fever.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 So I tune in, not seeing the lineups and after Bay walks, Ronny comes up. Nice hit.But then there's another hitter (not the pitcher) after Cedeno! And I think to myself, what kind of world are we living in where Jason Bay could possibly be hitting higher than seventh?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Shut up! He's a walk machine!A walk machine that just scored the go-ahead run, thank you very much!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Ooh, Johnson. Corralling the ball is not your specialty.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Good play by Ike to get Belt. Surprised they pitched to Crawford, but then they gave up being cute and went ahead and walked him after 2-0.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Keith would have gotten it. But part of grace is knowing your limitations.Raise your hand if you thought Hef was going to get out of that.

Last time it would have meant the game so more caution was required.

Paranoia, or is there something more to it?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Torres giving these fans a taste of what they lost today.Looks like he's hurting though. Nieuwie may be back faster than he expected.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Valdy is probably our centerfield backup, but we may be getting some Baxter Axion.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Nice swing by Bay, and good baserunning. It would be understandable, if not necessarily acceptable, to try to stretch that one after not getting a hit in a week.He should get at least one more AB tonight to start a new 0-23 streak.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 And he gets that base anyhow with a steal. But Ronny C. is one heroic act short.
Guest Swan Swan H Guests Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 Make that two. How many no-brainer DPs have the Mets not made this year?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2012 Posted July 30, 2012 So how many failed GiDPs that led directly to a run is that this season? My estimate is somewhere around 87And with Huff limping right out of the box they had all day to turn that one.
