Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Dickeys done after 6. No chance for a win. BOOOOO! It was what I was rootin for tonight. I was hoping for that and a 5fer5 night for Wright.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Maybe we can get those runs back with a long shot from Dud.... SHIT!Oh, look, Manny Acosta!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Until about 2-3 weeks ago I would have felt reasonably confident of the bats fighting back to make this a game and maybe even tie it or go ahead*. Not anymore.* Only to have the pen blow it later of course but at least it would be interesting for a while

In this mode I can only be surprised at positive things.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 How about playing JV every day to see if there's something there for '13?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Figures that tonight's the night we get near-flawless relief pitching.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 The bullpen and defense sure knows how to get it done when we're trailing.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 They thought, If only Jason could but get a whack at that. They'd put up even money, now, if Bay was at the bat
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Since the return from the A.S. break this has been a nightmare. Somebody wake me. Even in my worst dreams I could not have imagined a shittier run at a more crucial time.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Don't kid yourself, we were playing like crap before the break too.

As of today, I can't say I do. Still have that prayer though.before the all-star break was a minor skid where they lost more than they won. easy to bounce back from. with a couple of series wins. Barring an Oakland like run here, this is ..dismal. and the nachos I had were crap.Met Steve Rogers though. Probably the highlight of the night.wait, check that, highlight was probably watching the model model the Mets gear that company designed.

This run doesn't even come close. This was always going to be a year to rebuild. It sucks to lose, but 47-50 is still a lot better than I would have expected at this point in the season.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Somebody get that chick a chesseburger.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 There were two two-strike pitches to Morse in that sixth-- one at the knees, one at his eyes but check-swung-through-- that could've (should've?) made for the punchout, and third out. Alas, they were called "ball" and "check swing" respectively, and, well...
