Baseball that actually counts on tap at Turner Field, Friday night, 7:35. Chris Young vs. Tim Hudson, with Josh Edgin in the visitors' bullpen.

So get underway already!

From Rotowire:

Hudson received a second cortisone shot as he deals with some ankle soreness, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. (about 3 days ago).

seeing tweets that Wrigley Field is under water.

Hmm. CBS Sportsline has the game started and Tejada leading off w/a single. But I have no game on MLB.TV. Says it'll start shortly.

MLB.tv is down for all games. If you have cable, go to the Extra Innings channels. It's free for a week.

It feels like the Mets haven't won a game in a week.

Well done Sandy, having Young and Batista as your contingency plans. Even Omar Minaya is shaking his head.

Really, Young's not part of the problem. Until tonight, Young has been solid, with four straight "Quality Starts" (during which the Mets have scored 9 runs total), and allowing no more than three over any of his seven starts.

kirkie needs to hit like that.

Come on. You can't dump on Sandy like that. I don't know who anyone expects to join the team when pitchers go down, but big league starters, as always, are in short supply. Sandy's not the one losing a division over Brian Lawrence or signing Oliver Perez to big contract.

And this inning has just been great.

Wilson hurt. Braves have no SSs anymore

Having your starting SS get hurt on Sunday and not being able to decide who you want there by Friday is just plain weird.

P.S. especially when your AAA team is only like 10 miles away.
