Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Nickeas has to make that play. That's just awful.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Worst error at Dodger Stadium since Jeremy Reed.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Batista put the ball right on Nickeas' glove to start the easiest 1-2-3 DP ever, instead its 2 runs.this team that nobody thought could HIT is going to miss the playoffs thanks to a shoddy bullpen and horrible defensive execution

Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Nickeas should have caught it but I don't think he was expecting a slider there. Figures. This game has been a fucking mess.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Nothing good happens Sunday nights on ESPN. Nothing.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 For a guy that does as little hitting as he does, Nickeas sure is less than astounding with the glove. But, hey-- good hair.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Somebody needs to tell Tony Gwynn Jr that he doesn't have to wear his father's pants.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Looks like Gwynn Jr. is wearing his dads pants.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 (edited) Hey, they walked Uribe twice this game! Did you ever think you'd see THAT in your lifetime? Edited July 1, 2012 by Guest

Sounds like a record.Actually I think that was his second. That's another way this game is like that 2nd one in Chicago, not just the errors but in that one NYM hurlers were walking (or HBP-ing) Soriano & Castro several times each.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Wow. Who else can do that and not get tossed? Dave was pissed.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Were I Shorty, I would give Hefner a lot more of those Batista innings. He's got nice, tight stuff, doesn't walk many, and produces at least as many ground balls than Bad-to-Verse. Inflated 5.10 ERA notwithstanding, he's been better than Batista (peep the baserunner numbers).
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 I'm telling you --- bullshit lineup choices undermine the team and lead to bullshit play. I can prove it.(All I need is that McArthur Genius Grant to come through.)

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 Wright was walking away while yelling stuff back over his shoulder, he didn't need rescuing there.Besides, supposing he did get run? BFD at that point.Plus, for all we know, he could have been saying; "... first I get screwed out of the AS starter job and now this, what a fuckin' day it's been", while Randazzo was chuckling right along.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 I would just like to see a little more fire from Shorty. Even if it wasn't warranted here, it can't hurt to go out when your best player is upset and stick up for him. I think he's so concerned with not living up (down?) to his pre-Mets reputation that it makes him refrain from getting in an umpire's face.
