Yeah, but that's not what got him thrown out. Whatever he said following that must have been a doozy though.

Or the stretch of the trampoline about to launch them upward.

Even if it is...

The alternative was a team that would have been out of it since day one of the season. And I know we have been teased by Met teams alot in the past, but I'm okay with that if that's how it ends up. Cause this season has been fun, interesting, exciting at times, and we got that no-no and that alone would have made my year.

Mets: tag opposing runner out but runner is called safe; Met ejected protesting wrong call.
MFY: opposing batter is called out when MFY falls into stands, touches but does not catch ball; ump assumes catch as he does not even ask MFY to show him the ball when he gets up.

I know it's possible that there's confirmation bias here in that we notice these things because we want to notice them, but it's always felt like the breaks the Yankees get are like that, and often game changing, and they never even out.

My main problem with this thinking is that in baseball more than some other sports this just doesn't hold up. Gee goes out and pitches five innings , hard to beat up on "lesser teams" with that and with playing shoddy baseball.

In my mind Mets at Cubs usually goes like this.

right. you just 'gotta beat' enough teams to get into the playoffs. especially when they aren't division teams. The Mets need to rebound and still have a winning road trip, and it's all mostly forgotten.
