Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Who is that? I'm pretty sure it's not Barry Zito.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Zito in 2012: 2 Starts, 1-0, 1.13 ERA, 1 complete game shutout, 8 K, 1 BB, 16 IPStill, the Mets should be capable of slapping him around.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2012 Author Posted April 20, 2012 Barry preparing for his ERA to expand.
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 6 runs in 5.1 or less would triple Zito's 1.125 ERA. if they only score five they'd have to do it in 2.1 innings to triple it.4 runs in 8 or less innings would double it. If they only score 3, they'd have to chase him in 4 innings to double his ERA.For his ERA to dip under 1, he only needs 2.1 scoreless innings, but if the Mets score once he'd need to go 11.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 I have no ill will towards Zito's ERA, I just want them to score enough runs to get the W.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Melky Cabrera, working the "This Keeps My Hair On" chinstrap beard. That's definitely A look.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 As per GKR, the Giants are leading the league in errors (16 in 12 games). So, between this and the .700 team OPS, they're the total package, lineup-wise.Wright walks, giving us a two-on/one-out sorta stew goin'.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Nothing comes of the Met first, but Niese defuses a bases-loaded/one-out jam with some help from a nimble-ish Kirk and a not-tagging Posey.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Zito inducing a LOT of weak contact.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Fart. I'm not applauding THAT. Y'know, out of apathy.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Jesus. You'd think Niese wrote a book or something.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Maybe the Mets should just let the first guy in each inning advance to third.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Thank goodness - Bay's homer breaks up the no hitter.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 BAY.This constant notation of whether home runs at Citi would have been out last year will NEVER EVER get old!

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Now that's the kind of black little number I like.....
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 The Giants are now 0-7 on the night (with one run scored via WP) with runners at third... 0-4 with runners on third and less than two out.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Captain Kirk's homer would have been out at any park!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Newhouse makes his first ML hit against a LHP count. One of the cautions against him in the minors was his troubles vs LHPs - although that's something certainly not unusual for young'uns.
