Of course, any loss by any NL East opponent accentuates the happiness.

Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Not sure if we're keeping track of this anymore since Philadelphia is in last place but Washington and Atlanta lost last night too (and Miami didn't win) so it was an extra happy night all around.NY Mets 3, at LA Dodgers 2Chicago White Sox 4, at NY Yankees 3Pittsburgh 5, at Philadelphia 4at Colorado 11, Washington 10Arizona 3, at Atlanta 2One of these days I'd like to see the Mets win on the same day Atlanta, Miami, Philadelphia, and Washington lose which I call the Quintet of Unobtainable Joy.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 And the Mets brought that last one home.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 The additional fun part about all those other games was also how each team lost.- Yanx, up by 2, lost on 3R HR in the 9th- Braves led for much of the game but eventually lost on a tie-breaking solo HR in the 9th- Nationals clawed their way back from a 7-0 hole only to lose 11-10 on a walk-off single in the 11th- Phils were in a 5-0 hole before they ever came to bat but, after clawing most of the way back, stranded two runners in the 8th plus one more in the 9th to fall shortEach team, except for the Nats, were at home too.
