Frankie warming up. Another day, another save. He's on pace for 162 saves this season. I haven't checked but that may be a record.

Sadly, it's a non-save situation with the score tied in the ninth.

Thanks. Point was, he was up in warming during the bottom 8.

Oh, I know. I was disappointed the Mets hadn't gotten a lead in that time.

Nice stop by Murphy!

I'm ready for the first 9th inning walk-off win of 2012 now.

Thanks to Murphy for making my wish come true.

Murphy was so jacked after making that great play that he had to get the winning hit.

SWEET! (Sorry Frank 2 for the lack of a save opportunity)

- I didn't mind Ruben bunting
- but then I kind of liked him trying the fake bunt thing too
- but then I did NOT want to see him bunting w/2 strikes
- but then I liked the outcome

Yeah, I was conflicted.

I think I lost my voice as a result of this one.

Wow!

That's a real nice win. It's early and they're playing hard and smart. Finding it easy to root for this team.

Not sure we deserved to win that game -- got out-hit, so-so starting pitching, we got a couple of generous calls on the bases & at the plate -- but that's why it's nice that we did.

Nats got so-so starting pitching as well, played badly defensively, and stopped hitting after the third inning.

I was glad Collins let Kirk hit against the Meiskite* (that's "ugly one" in Yiddish) lefty. Even though he made an out, he hit a line drive, taking the pitch the other way.
He may have lost an inning, but he gave the kid confidence that he won't be automatically jerked out of there against lefties.
Then, he hit for him with Hairston later in the game.
Oh well ...

Later

* = pronounced MEE- iss- kite.

Boy, Tom Gorzelanny is one ugly sumbitch. There should be a PSA recommending people not look at this guy.

He's a jack-o'-lantern made by an inartistic hand out of a parsnip.
