If Cobb, Musial and Aaron were so great, why weren't they Yankees?

Based on his 2012 pace (because why not?), he's scheduled to tie the record in game 137, Wednesday, September 5, a day game in St. Louis, before the best fans in baseball.

He's scheduled to break the record two days later, on Friday evening, September 7, at home against Atlanta. That's a six game homestand, giving him some slack, but please Mets, pretty please, don't be like the Yankees and have Wright fake an injury in order for him to break the record at home. You can't get weaker than that shit.

Anybody who wants to figure out expected pitchers on those days, please step up.

Ed Kranepool approves of long All-Star breaks and will lobby to have this one extended long enough so that David Wright, stuck on 1,354 since Saturday, gets bored and finds another line of work.

On pace to set the record around 09/01/12, which is too fast for me.

For selfish reasons, I want him to be breaking it two weeks later while he (and I) are in Milwaukee.
