GAME 1:

The Cards -- 16-5 down the stretch (even including a certain four-run blown 9th inning lead) and without Carpenter for the first few games after they needed him for game #162 -- throw Kyle Lohse (14-8, 3.39) up against the tan, rested, and ready Roy Halladay.

Why, because Rollins is pretty much saying what half this forum said even earlier, that the better way to win a batting title is to do so on the field?

Well Lohse certainly came apart in a hurry, huh?
And now Rep-eyechart-sky throws a bunch of fat on the fire.

as opposed to Reyes, who won it by bribing the official scorer to give him fake points? Did most of his hits come 'off' the field? ha.

hope everyone enjoyed Phillies last win of the season.

Yes that's it. That's clearly what I meant.

[u:n6iolc5r]GAME 2[/u:n6iolc5r] --

Lee gives up a lead-off triple to Furcal but then gets out of it untainted (K, Pop-out [Albert], and GO)
Now, in the bottom of the 1st, Carpenter on short rest is getting his butt kicked. Three runs in and they're not finished yet.

Carpenter was lifted for a pinch hitter in the 4th. Cardinals got 3 that inning but the third out was at the plate so they're still down 1, 4-3.

Cards win game two which is a very nice surprise. Let's go Redbirds.

I listened to this one flipping between 1700 and 700 am both which are ESPN stations in SoCal, but I'm not sure which areas. But sometimes one had reception, sometimes the other. Left Vegas at 4 ( 7 Mets standard Time) picked up the end of the broadcast of the Brewers, which then cut to Phily mid interview with the catcher (not even mid interview, it was like "How'd it feel as a rookie getting those key hits?...and the pitch by Lee..) and thanks in part to Tony LaRussa's pitching changes, the game lasted almost the entire 5.5 hour trip, ending about 10 miles outside of San Diego.

Excuse me while I go give Petco park the finger for not hosting a Mets @ San Diego NLDS while i'm here. Clearly it's the park's fault.

give Petco a big finger for me too, for having a stupid name.

if the Phils were on radio last nite I couldn't find it as 1050 covered the Jets. I wound up instead with Steve's Underground Garage, it was great, and helped me set a new record on my running course.

I am also on the road now, at a stopover in OHare en route to Indianapolis tonite. Am gonna try to find a bar showing MFYs_Tigers but Colts on MNF. Doh

Grab lunch at the Tin Fish down the block after you give the stadium the finger.

I'd suggest decification to the park behind center, but I'm sure it has tight survelience. Though you could quickly purchase a puppy and have it do the deed for you!

Hey Tony,
Nice move walking Ruiz so as to get Hamels out of the game. Just shit luck that it led to a 3R HR by the PH instead.

Cards brought the tying or go-ahead run to the plate about 10 times in the last few innings, seemed like, they had their chances.

Good pitcher's duel with Cardinals up 1-0 after 6. Furball triple in the first led to the only run.

loving it, Carpenter is dealing. Nothing better I think than watching two guys dueling like this.
