ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 The Mets face another pitcher they are seeing for the first time. Brad Peacock is a St.Peters Peacock also. And the Mets counter with a nut.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Pelfrey got into trouble in the first, but then got out of it.The double play is, indeed, the pitcher's best friend.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 It's bad enough that they're making a ton of errors lately, but have they made any recently that DIDN'T cost them runs?Up to two un-earned so far and it's only the top of the 3rd

I did a little rsearch a couple of weeks ago of errors->unearned runs and didn't find and real big correlation.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Are we allowed to get two-out hits too? ... Guess not.

I imagine those things tend to peak during stretches like that.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Hey, six innings, 25 batters, and the offense has produced 3 dinky singles off a ML debut and the long-man out of the pen.The sad part is that's practically an improvement.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Ugh, Mets. No batter, no batter, swing.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 3rd game in a row I'm using this phrase: FUCKING PATHETIC!!What do we have so far, like 25 pop-ups?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Mets are 3 for 29 off Tyler Clippard this year.Any reason to think they'll hit him this time?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Terry keeps using the same lineup (with one exception today, Satin) and they don't appear to be concerned about winning. How about playing players that might give a damn, such as Val P. and Baxter?

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Author Posted September 14, 2011 They are just playing out the string not with a bang but a whimper..Pretty Lame..
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Don't bunt. He's wild. Don't give up an out.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 So whose turn is it to leave these runners on? ... aka: who's due up?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 You gotta be kidding me with this bunt?!?!?!!?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 FIRE TERRY!Idiot. The Nationals color guy said that the Mets are doing the Nats a favor.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 You'd think that 567 poor bunts in a row might start to send a message sooner or later.I don't like that play EVEN IF THE FUCKING THING WORKS!!! - and the odds of it working are somewhere around the single digit pct area!!
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 FP Santangelo has used the word "break" a dozen times since Turner attempted to bunt.
