Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Stay there and keep drinking. You might be better off.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 DUDA! Again. How many times this year has he come through like that?
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 On Sandy's "to do" list for next year has got to be having a better lefty PH than Harris.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Hey, look! We hit a big homerun and then issue a leadoff walk to the opposition to start the next inning.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 WTF is it with walks in front of Braun & Fielder?!?That's like at least 4 this series and Braun didn't essentially play in Friday's game.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 And not that the Brewers haven't had their share of HRs this weekend ... but they've also had some of the cheapest-looking singles in the world.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 shit_ass bunt by Thole there ruined the inning.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 This is what I'm talking about: the Brews have a run in, two runners on, no outs, we're on our third pitcher of the inning ... and they haven't hit a ball solidly yet!Yesterday's 9th inning was essentially the same thing.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 This team blows..put Timmy in!

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 mlb.tv kept the audio on for an extra few seconds so we heard Gary begin a second with "The worst...." I wonder how he finished it? "The worst stretch of Mets baseball I've ever seen"?
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 They had better play this well against the Braves and Philies in the playoffs.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 So the key to the game was Tejada's intentional walk because that took Dickey out of the game.
Piggiestomatoes Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Why do they even bother to come back in these games? Which circle of Dante's hell does this torture best fit?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Leadoff walks and leadoff hits given up to (the now 41 y/o) Craig Counsell are pretty much the same thing.Guy was Oh-for-the-summer until he showed up here and now this staff can't get him out.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Fuck these guys in their August-holes.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Let me just say, about the game: Sad. 1) I called the Duda HR2) Bay really killed the ball on his double3) That bunt was a shit idea and badly executedNo one was surprised at what happened after that.Went to try the run around the bases with Lunchpail afterward but along with the last hundred or so people in line, got fucked when the rain started and they turned us away. We'd by that point walked in line from underneath the subway platform to just at the bullpen gates. They tried to sell it to us as a safety issue "Lightning!" they kept saying, and I understood (so did Lunchpail who was disappointed but not especially so). One dad was acting like a complete dick and it was sad.But here's the thing that made it uniquely Mets: In the milling about inside (after Pissed Off Dad made a scene they acted as though they might re-start the event if the rain stopped - hah) I had to use the mens room, and they sent me upstairs to the men's room on the concourse between Catch of the Day and World's Fare. By the time I came down they'd decided enough rain had fallen and so they'd be canceling the rest of the Dash.So we'd stay dry and not get struck by lightning, I tried to lead the fam back up stairs where I'd been a moment before so as to walk the perimeter under cover and get to the subway faster, the same Security Douchebags who'd just sent me up there to pee and were concerned that if we'd go outside we'd be struck dead by lightning, acted as though the area was roped off and closed and ordered us outside into the rain with a longer walk to the subway.Fuck you, Mets.
