Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I need some sorbet here to cleanse the palate after that sad ass Monday night display of, uh, for lack of a better term, "Mets baseball."
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Because the Mets are really sucking at ballBut they're getting back ReyesAnd that says it all!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 This is going to be an 'avoid last place' game.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Paging Mr. Wright. Mr. Wright, please report to the lineup card.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 $7 tix available for tonight, as per the Mets' FB presence. Smart move.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 As I asked last night, if Wright can play 9 innings in the minors, why can't he play 9 innings for the Mets? It's supposed to be about his getting his timing back but it's not like he'd be breaking up a juggernaut.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 I worked at Coleman. They paid me slave wages. If I saw a professional ballplayer, I'd've asked him for food.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Don't know what the hell this is supposed to mean.Adam Rubin Tweeted wrote:Mets have not announced roster move, but Chip Hale just called for Ruben Tejada. Duda in lineup, so only alternative would be Nick Evans.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 It's Tejada who goes down. Chip Hale was waving him toward LaGuardia.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 The team will still lack a viable backup shortstop. It just won't matter as much.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Keeping Nick Evans up means Hairy is still hurting prolly, and might get traded too.

It's not like the other teams will have missed his injury. It might have been a good idea to disable him with the callup (he and Evans are pretty redundant), but I'm g-g-guessing they didn't want to push his availablity past the trade deadline.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 If he gets has to come out mid-game, Turner or Harris. If he needs to sit a start, Tejada comes back.I don't know about NYC, but it's 114 in the shade out there in DC. I hope Carlos is ready for this.

(I just got back from the gym, so I'm not throwing stones here)I know baby's can be unpredictable to a point, but maybe Nickeas should've been a little closer to Queens given that Mrs. Thole was due to pop at any moment? Apparently he's not oging to make it in time for the game tonight.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Gee Thing has pitched... effectively so far. (Through 3.)
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 And Beltran is emphatically back in earnest, with two two-out doubles, but Reyes is hitless thus far.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Problem with no-hitters is that maintaining one leads to walks, which lead to hits, which lead to runs.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Another one of those Beltran doubles would be cool about now.
