Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 Manny Acosta's 8-pitch 1-2-3 inning continues the momentum shifting theme.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 George Sherril might have thicker thighs than Heath Bell

Again! This time a 2-hit CG shutout by Lee. Last night the Fish got a jump on Halladay and took a 2-run lead into the 9th. They then blew that on a 2-out/2-RBI hit before going on to lose the game in the 10thThat's 7 wins in a row for Philly; 7 losses in a row and 15 of their last 16 for the MarlinsThis was me on May 16, when they were 8 games over 500 and 1 game out:John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote:I don't really see these guys being as good as their record says they are. I mean, until we beat them a few more times I guess they are, but their producers won't all continue to produce at their rates all year as surely as Ramirez can't be expected to struggle like he has.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 One more hit to really crack this open...
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Hairy whiffs on 3 pitches but the run comes home on a wild pitch anywhoo.
Guest attgig Guests Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 hairston's looking not so good on things down in the zone.but thank god for the wild pitch.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Byrdak has not endeared himself to me.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 And Byrdak says, "FU Fairy," getting out of the jam without any damage.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Aw, shit. Rub some dirt on it Angel.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Pagan didn't touch the bag, but they could have just as easily called obstruction because Freeman tripped him.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I had posted a couple of days ago that Hairston's numbers had climbed up to respectability while nobody was looking. His OPS for the year is probably over .800 with the homer. That being said, he had a horrible AB against Venters (swinging and missing at three pitches out of the strike zone).Uggla's terrible relay (assisted by Turner's slide) gives us some insurance!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 ATL is really playing like shit this series but to our credit, we're winning it.
Guest attgig Guests Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 nice slide! So, now that we're in the late innings... can someone explain why krod was used last night when it wasn't a save situation?
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I am happy Pagan didn't hurt himself.

smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I actually find it reassuring that Collins is not managing to K-Rod's contract.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 That's now 9 innings of 4-hit/shut-out ball from the pen over the last two nights. Now we just need one more of those.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I don't know, but they showed him earlier in the bullpen wrapped up in about 15 towels, from his neck down to the wrist. It looked like he'd been fisting Mr. Stay Puft out there.
