metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Wright out three more weeks....RubinSandy Alderson says David Wright, based on previous X-Ray, needs to remain inactive for three more weeks.RubinAlderson: "Maybe we'll have David back for Santana's first start."Fucked is what we are
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 "Inactive three more weeks" sounds like he'll be out more like four.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Apparently though it's not "three more weeks " to the docs who maintain Wright is on their timetable as they said six weeks from diagnosis and Alderson and the Mets thought they meant six weeks from the time of the injury. Glad to see the medical mis-communication went away with Minaya.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 I'm guessing that we're not going to see David Wright until after the All-Star Break. We'll be told he's "close" and then then hear that he needs a few more days, then there'll be a rehab start or two, and by then, barring a setback, it will be July 15 when the MFPs are back in town.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 My rule of thumb (and back) is to double the timetable for an injured player's expected return. So if the Mets are saying 3 1/2 - 4 weeks for Wright's return, I figure 7-8 weeks. Sometimes I miss, sometimes badly, but I'm closer to actuality more often than not.
