I like Blue Smoke's fried chicken, as well ast he Eggplant parm in the Delta/Ceasear's club.

and obviously, the keith's burger is good, and shake shack.

Cascarino's lasagna was good when I had it.

The Shrimp Po' Boy at Catch of the Day has been my favorite to this point. I also like the pulled pork at Blue Smoke.

I was disappointed in the Shackago Dog (I remember the one in Madison Square Park being so much better).

The Cascarino's eggplant parmigiana sub is very good, and it's large enough to share.

D-Dad is a big fan of Catch of the Day's crabcake sandwich.

And when I'm trying to watch myself before a weigh-in, I truly appreciate Mama's of Corona's salad options - they're fresh, filling and satisfying. They also make a nice tomato and mozzarella plate that's very sharable.

When we went to Citi Field in 2009, I made sure my son had a real knish! You can't get them out here, along with black and white cookies and a decent bagel.

Had it once... I get what they were going for, but man, that's a lot of chew for a little bit of smoke flavor.

Up there with the former Blue Smoke wings (they don't do these anymore, do they?) as a strong contender for my silver medal. The frites (Ballpark Mayo works) and the po'boy are up there, too, as is the Shack-ago dog and good ol'
Mama's.

You know what's subtly very good, too? The Bluepoint-steamed hot dog at CotD. It has a nice, really subtle smack of toasted oats that's unusual and worth trying.

I had them in 2009. They're good. messy for a ballpark. Do not eat them on freezing April evenings when your hands are numb, dry and chapped. ouch.

I had a delicious knish at a Cyclones game in 2009, and two weeks later, when I was at Citi Field with my kids, I convinced them to try the knishes.

And they were awful.

The key difference: the one in Brooklyn was fresh and hot, and the ones in Queens were old and warm. Bad first impression. I expect it will be a while before either of my kids tries a second knish. Too bad.


Last time I was at Citi, the Shake Shack lines were short, so we finally gave it a try. They were terrific, of course. But when the lines at the Shack are long, I like the turkey and mozzarella hero (with marinated mushrooms and peppers) at Mama's of Corona. They have a location in the food court atop the rotunda.

The last two years that I could tell they only had knishes at the kosher stands for the most part. They burnt it the one time I got it, which just reminded me of Shea. This year they've got more knish ads up and I see them on more menus. Might be time to try again if the line is long elsewhere.

The knish at the Hot Pastrami stand is sublime. As is the Hot Pastrami. A worthy counterpoint to the BBQ Brisket at Blue Smoke.

Among the more pedestrian fare, the chicken nachos are outstanding. And nothin' wrong with a sweet sausage or a Hebrew National frank from the Kosher stand or good ol' Daruma in the World's Fare.

Yes, Citi Field is good at food.

My son and I had both Keith Burgers on Saturday and he was tickled pink that he got a Tootsie Pop. Burgers were awesome, too.

Box Frites are a fave, and the Taqueria tacos are excellent.

My #1 is the Blue Smoke Pulled Pork sammich, though. Ballpark food isn't supposed to taste that good.
