As soon as he didn't stop that Gardner hit I got a bad feeling about this inning.
Two runs this inning and they still haven't hit a ball hard.

Nothing bad luck about clotheslining a guy trying to bunt.

I meant the two singles that found holes between legs and up the middle. not exactly scorched. It's the curse of a pitcher that gets grounders but doesn't K that many. if he doesn't walk the guy (And bean Cervelli, although I approve of up and in on guys trying to bunt. ) it's not a big deal. In the end it's why he's a good but not great pitcher. Too many balls in play.

Sheesh, Beato ends up face down in the turf.

Death by a thousand impotent cuts.

A-Rod must be [crossout]living right[/crossout] the fortunate beneficiary of random chance.

Toss him, Cooper.

I have nothing to prove this, but I'll go to my grave believing that the Yanx specialize in that kind of topped dribbler and also in hitting balls to shitty for DPs in DP situations.
It's like they practice them somehow except that there's no way to actually do so.

Terry had a bad inning. He had success this week leaving his pitcher's in but not today. As soon as the lead-off batter got on, he should have taken out Pelfrey. Then as soon as he beaned a .170 hitter, he had another chance. Terry wanted his pitcher to work himself out of trouble, and maybe he agreed with Ceetar about the ground balls, but I think he showed too much confidence in Pelfrey.

And THAT's why you don't bring in a lefty with reverse-fucking-splits throughout his career to pitch to a slashy-lefty hitter.

leadoff batter was groundbally.. you can make the case after the walk though, that was really the problem. I'm still unsure about the hit batsman.. Cervelli was supposed to be putting the bat between his face and the ball anyway someone manages to move it out of the way and get hit. bah.

ugh, I'm done with this game. of course the bloops fall in right?

Now they go from a team unable to score without hitting one over the fence to one who scores at will despite being unable to reach an outfielder.

Remember Hawk Harrelson's expression "duck snort" for a short hit?
A duck can snort farther then most of those hits.

Bay's failure to come through with a KO punch when he had the chance was palpable. Our O isn't good enough not to cash in those opps.

Bottom of the 7th, bases loaded for the Yanks, nobody out and Jeter coming up -- I'da brought in K-Rod.

I would have gone to him one batter earlier.

Jeter's grounder was achingly catchable for Pelfrey. That's a 1-2-3 DP at least as often as it's a two-run single.

But there it is. The guy gets a break and tomorrow's headline is Captain Courageous or some shit.
