Sanchez bunts into the 2-6-3, helping matters by going back to the clubhouse while the ball was in play.

I haven't followed the Giants all that closely this year...has Miggy Tejada really fallen that far that he's hitting 8th or 7th? In their lineup???

The bunt taketh away, and the bunt giveth, or something.

My theory is that, when you've already emasculated a guy with the bunt sign, actually trying to achive seems counterintutitive to him.

Also, I think he broke a heel.

if you recall my KTE (btw, now 0-3 on IGT, and 0-2 on KTE..sight..) i compared Jonathan Sanchez to Oliver Perez. Wayne Hagin just did the same thing.

Well, the Giant defense may as well not have worn their gloves. The Mets are getting all walks and strikeouts off of Sanchez today.

The record for fewest letters in a starting Mets infield is... 18! Set by Davis-Hu-Wright-Reyes on April 9, 2011.

The previous record was 19, set by Hodges-Hunt-Neal-Moran four times in 1963, and tied by Cook-Hunt-Kanehl-Moran that same year, and by Smith-Samuel-Hunt-Moran in 1964.

We saw some 20's in 2010, with Davis-Cora-Wright-Reyes.

The lengthiest-named starting infield? 36 letters, on July 11 and July 19, 1971. Clendenon-Martinez-Aspromonte-Harrelson.

Paulino has a pleasing Castroness to him behind the plate. It's like comfort food for the eyes.

I don't forsee Hu lasting long, but I imagine there is a slim chance we could get Evans up here for Harris and maybe he backs up Wright and we can get 17?

Or Lutz! 16!

Since the President is in town, maybe he'll stop by CF for the last few innings.

Thank you for the confirmation. I was at that April 9 game and didn't recognize the Hustory in the making.

It wouldn't be unprecedented (or unPresidented) for Obama if you believe fan fiction.

Some serious Pelfing going on in this inning. He's thrown 20-something pitches and he isn't through three batters.

Brilliant , obviously you've been resting and are fully charged now.

Maybe he's working from a set of precision-improving quotas-- throw 10 pitches to a struggling middle infielder, walk a number 8 hitter, give up a hit to a terrible-hitting pitcher-- of which we're unaware, and so he's kicking more ass than we could ever know. Did you ever think about that, smartypants?

Is the home plate umpire double parked or just bored and he wants to leave.
