As a Met minor leaguer, Boof Ricciardi played with 5 future Mets and 4 non-Met future big leaguers. At least two of the latter group are pretty damn obscure. Anyhow, name them. Three points for a Met, five for a non-Met, and minus one for incorrect guess.

Who's Boof Ricciardi? If this is slang for Boof Bonser, I'm guessing Jason Tyner and Joe Mauer.

If it's Ricciardi, I go with Jay Tibbs, Billy Beane, Jose Oquendo and Herm Winningham.

Correct Mets:
Biily Beane
Jeff Bittiger
Len Dykstra

Correct Non-Mets:
Lloyd McClendon
Jay Tibbs

Inccorectos
Joe Mauer
Jose Oquendo
Jason Tyner
Herm Winningham

"Boof," according to John Paul Bonser, is an appropriate nickname for a guy named John Paul.

Or according to urban dictionary

To stick something up your butt, generally drugs but can include anything.

Wally Backman?

Nope. Decent guesses.

I'll throw in that he played in the Mets system in 1980 and 1981, when Backman was already at the top of the system and shuttling between Tidewater and Flushing.

Prefix - DeWayne Vaughn?
Jeff Bettendorf? (I'm stretching here. I used to confuse him with Jeff Bittiger, so I'm guessing they were on the same team.)

I hope someone gets the last one, so I can ask my trivia questions about him.

Our final Met had a nice little career, but was a Met only ephemerally.

That clue just blew the fuse of the Jeapordy computer.
"Epemerally"?
You mean not as a player but a coach/ manager/ exec? (If it is, that was part of MY trivia question.)

My mind has to re-boot.

The suspense is killing me. I have to look up the answer.

C'mon.
[list:nmhopxkd][*:nmhopxkd]Played minor league ball with J.P. Ricciardi (in 1980 and/or 1981).[/*:m:nmhopxkd]
[*:nmhopxkd]A solid big league career. [/*:m:nmhopxkd]
[*:nmhopxkd]Only briefly a Met.[/*:m:nmhopxkd]
[*:nmhopxkd]Vulnerable to being hunted by Sarah Palin.[/*:m:nmhopxkd][/list:u:nmhopxkd]

I'll also lift some suspense by saying he was a doubles-hitting firstbaseman who walked like nobody's business.

This is the hint that's confusing. It's not Bob Moose, and I don't recall anyone named "Wolf" either.

And really, I think anyone who doesn't wear an Uncle Sam hat with tea bags dangling from the brim might qualify.

Randy "Moose" Milligan is correct. Thank you for playing J.P. Ricciardi Trivia.
