At the risk of jinxing it (but for non-Facebook folks like Lefty), access to paperofrecord.com has been restored. It includes a century or so of The Sporting News archives, invaluable to research efforts; other local papers, too. Google had bought it and kept it off the grid. Once it was pulled from us regular Joes, I had to join SABR to make use of it. Not that joining SABR was a bad thing, but I probably wouldn't have bothered had TSN still been readily available.

The thing is, it really hasn't been restored as such. It's still unavailable from the home page. I happened to find a back door, which is why I'm hesitant to post the link here.

I simply went to paperofrecord and it worked OK. My previous registration kicked in and everything.
