Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 What happened w/ Omir Santos last year?Warthen made some comments - I think it was last spring - to the effect that Omir wasn't exactly the favorite target for most of the pitchers.Rubin's comment that maybe some players felt that way also is a new one at least to me.

I still think Warthen's worthless though.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 THAT's right-- the whole "catcher ERA" boondoggle. I remember it coming off as a little untoward, or tin-eared, at best... but then, team pitching (perhaps unsustainably) was a LOT better this year.Nobody asked what he'd been "sitting on" for a few weeks re: why Backman wasn't a REALLY serious candidate?Or was that the attendance business?

Think it was the attendance thing? that's a stupid one, if it is.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Ask him about bringing Asian players to Mets.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Happy Birthday, Juan Berenguer has submitted a question.

metirish Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2010 Author Posted November 30, 2010 billy (nj)what is the latest on daniel murphy injury.Adam Rubin (12:06 PM)Actually have breaking news on that as well. I'm told by a source that Murphy has a pull in his left hamstring, but it's not alarming. And Fernando Martinez was told the knee just needs strengthening -- no impending surgery or anything.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Freaking billy (nj). What an ill wind it is that follows that guy around.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 This is a really informative chat.

Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Derek Anderson (via mobile)Adam, you better put your heart and soul into this chat! Referring to this, he is.Victor (Tampa,FL)So Thole #1 C in the Mets depth chart. Adam Rubin (12:41 PM)Terry Collins said that's the case. So I suppose the Mets are in the market for a righty-hitting backup who is younger than Henry Blanco. This is probably the case. Is it weird that this makes me a little sad (whereas Takahashi leaving was just kind of a shrug)?
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Is it weird that this makes me a little sad sad why?cuz you don't think Thole is worth being our #1?or sad about Blanco's departure?or just sad cuz your off your meds?or cuz its winter time?
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 He's thinking of the color yellow.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I don't get that either.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I'll miss the Blanco. I'll miss his arm. I'll miss his ex-con/truckstop-short-order-cook mullet and tattoo sleeves. I'll miss his mien. But mostly, I'll just miss my friend. Also, it seems I need to renew my Cymbalta scrip.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 We need Blanco. Hell, I need Blanco! I'm a mess without him. I miss him so damn much! I miss being with him. I miss being *near* him. I miss his laugh! I miss his scent. I miss his musk... When this all gets sorted out, I think Blanco and me should get an apartment together!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Lads, to Henry and those like him.....DAMN FEW LEFT!
