Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 If that fan does not touch it is is a homer?Hotdamn!ZVON, YOU ARE THE MAN!!!![/quote:190ohb84]Oh no, my friend, JCL is da man. Totally da man!
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Hamels can be pretty rough on the lefties, and it's not like Davis hasn't been a cluprit in the disappearance of the offense. Plus, I'm guaranteeing at least one Hessman HR tonight.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 BTW, both SurfingTheMets and Adam Rubin are openly jinxing RA via the tweets.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Fucking bizarre! They're putting Hessman on third!
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Hessman reluctantly clings to the 69 Mets with one Met home run list.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Bastards.JCL is still the man. But not THE MAN!
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 BTW, both SurfingTheMets and Adam Rubin are openly jinxing RA via the tweets.[/quote:1c8of5vf]OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!This is odd. They are calling it a triple. Two people get ripped off here.Hessman and JCL.Well, Hessman will be batting again........(Im not sure it would have been a homer if the fan doesn't touch it myself)
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 (edited) First major league triple, however. The extra base likely a consolation prize.BTW, that call was fucking blown. Insert off-color rejoinder regarding what the umpires were doing to each other that it took them so long. Edited August 13, 2010 by Guest
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I don't understand that ruling at all.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 And Frenchy, who only has to hit a freaking pop-up to correct the injustice, whiffs.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Thank God French's starting.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 wtf guys.guy on 3rd with 0 out...u gotta get him in.COME_ON!!!
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Note to fan who tried to catch a ball while it was still on the other side of the wall -- don't be a fucking idiot next time.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 And so does Blanco. Would be a nice time for Tejada to break out.Hey, I thought Thole was the designated knuckleball catcher? And Blanco is walked to get to RA.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Ugh, gods of baseball, u mock me.

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 R.A., please hit Rollins. Just to take our frustrations out on an appropriate party.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I'm writing a song about this game.Wanna hear it?Here it go....
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I'll take a pickoff slap in the face instead.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Honestly, I do not get what the fuck the fucking idiot extending his fucking arms over the wall into fair fucking territory thought he was fucking accomplishing. At least fucking Bartman's ball was foul and at a weird angle.Don't throw opposition homers back onto the field. Throw that fucking idiot out of the park. Asshole.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Bucket has disappeared?Terrible call, K-Rod should beat the crap outta those old guys
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I thought that the replay was inconclusive, and based on the SNY feed, I have no idea whether that should've been a homer. Gary Cohen believes that Hessman's shot had to have been a homer because the fan's arms aren't long enough to reach below the orange line that demarcates a HR. I disagree with Gary's analysis. The issue is whether the ball would've landed above the orange line had it not been deflected by the fan. It's theoretically possible to interfere with the flight of the ball while the ball is above the HR line. I couldn't tell whether or not the fan touched the ball and couldn't judge the trajectory of the batted ball either. So I don't know.
