I didn't think this Hall Of Met Fame stuff would be allAdat but I have to say Cashen brought a tear to my eye, and this is pretty damn awsum.

Agreed Zvon. Nice to see so many other Mets on the stage w/the honorees.

Darryl hit the tying HR in Game 5 of the NLCS against Houston--off Nolan Ryan--and it's the only playoff game I've attended (thus far, please!). I was sitting in the Mezzanine Box, 1B side, and the ball passed in front of us like a bolt of lightning.

Thanks Zvon.

Why aren't the Mets wearing their '86 throwback jerseys or at least the pinstripes?

The throwbacks would be a brilliant idea for this day.
Why aren't you in a position to make this happen? ;)

Awww, thanks. (But according to some, I'm "heartless.")[/quote:2xuukcy2]

You ain't heartless until Yogi somehow says so.

One-pitch out for Jeff Francoeur. Man, o, man.

I'm torn about Thole. It looks like he can hit for average, calls a good game and has a good arm, but the experts tell us that his ceiling is as a back-up. I wish he had more pop but maybe that will develop.

The commercial for the Billy Joel movie screams "The Biggest Outdoor Movie Premier Since 1919."

First, who's keeping that stat? The MPAA?
Second, is there someone out there watching who says "I didn't plan on going but dammit this is history!"

Well, not chokin up like he does, and I have no problem with a punchy lil hitter with rare and random pop.
Wasn't Pete Rose one of those. He grew into having some good clutch pop.
Quick Quiz:Between yesterday and today how many times have I said pop?
No peeking allowed ;)

I don't listen to experts.
I just observe and allow things to happen.
I hope the experts do the same.

I don't think the experts are anything like unanimous on Thole's future backup status. I mean, if that's his ceiling, he's already hit it and cracked the plaster but good.

I also didn't think it was very possible for an outfielder to catch a fly in foul territory at Citi.

That was a sweet catch.
Could be big.

Oh my, lol, Niese swings for the heavens.

I don't know where you find these things in the record book, but Maine is now 110 innings into his season, and nobody has stolen a base against him.

Good points on Thole. So far, so good and let the experts be damned. He can platoon next year with whomever Omar signs in February.

I just inadvertantly tuned into the Mets' Spanish radiocast as Feliciano was coming up.

Golpe un triple anoche.

Oh, yes, he did!

Mex brought up something during that close play on Reyes at first that I don't think ever occurred to me in just that way.
How the dimensions of the field, in that case the ground ball up the middle vs. the 90 feet to first, are fascinatingly perfect.

Davey Johnson in the booth. Holy crap!

Awww, I really thought today was gonna be the day.
Okay, tomorrow. (if I keep pluggin I will eventually predict the Met no-no)

Johnson singles up the middle.
Upton singles to center.

One out.
HAWK POWER ON!
