Wainwright's good. I hate them. A Dodger fan acquaintance of my wife's called them the Yankees of the Midwest. I hate them more.

Pujols was on Letterman last night hitting rubber balls on 53rd street with Dennis Leary pitching.
Maybe it screwed up his swing & timing.

They got some rook who's batting like .500.
I don't know his name or position.
I hat him already.

OE: he might not even be a rook.
But I hat him whoever the hell he is.

Third baseman David Freese out a few weeks after dropping a weight on his toe.

Felipe Lopez will play third in the meantime. (Have I mentioned that the Mets could have picked him up? I was not sure I had.)

The weight was LaRussa's play book(I kid LaRussa but I would take him as manager in a heart beat)

Who will play most often in center field? Colby Rasmus has 16 homers -- all before the All-Star break. Rasmus is 3-for-29 since then, including a current 1-for-25 skid. The past two games, he sat as rookie Jon Jay started.

Jay, who had four hits in those two games, has been the flavor of the month, going 23-for-50 (.460) since his recall from Class AAA Memphis on July 3, raising his average to .387 for the season.

Significantly, 11 of those 23 hits have gone for extra bases -- eight doubles, one triple and two homers. If nothing else, Jay has established himself in a four-outfielder rotation. He will give right fielder Ryan Ludwick a day off now and then as Ludwick gets back into playing trim after sitting out a month with a left calf strain.

Jon Jay?
Cripes, he already has a college named after him.

Well, yeah sure. So would I. Of course, we have endured the trifecta of Art Howe - Willie Randolph - Jerry Manuel.

A threesome never seemed so undesirable.

I started to refer to them as the Mets Three Stooges, but I didn't wan't too insult the intelligence of Larry, Curly, and Moe.

Say that you want about Tony LaRussa, without his over-managing, our records in extra-innings and walkoffs would be even worse.
