Downgrade your defense-- at first, no less-- for the double-switch? Really?

Also, isn't Ike the emergency pitcher?

I'd have pulled Bay and left left empty.

I think Jeff is usually the emergency pitcher but that boat's already sailed.

I can ask Dickey and/or Pelfrey if they're good to go as they're within earshot.

Y'know, a savvy win-now kinda manager would take a lot greater advantage of the knuckler on his staff. The Pirates and Red Sox both rode Wakefield hard and put him away wet earlier in his career during pennant races, pitching him 1-2 times a week as necessary between starts.

Any manager should know that and if they don't, the knuckler should get in his face and tell him.

Better than watching a bike ride while in the midst of an abortion.

I guess.

Jeez, bro, watch out for runaway busses. Specially in that one park.

We didn't have the front row bit that was our section and when the annoying Dbacks fans left after the 11th, it was my duty to take those empty front-row seats.

Spotted during this debacle: Chris Carter, on the top step for all of the last 6 innings, clutching David's bat, and cheering each improbable out recorded by Oliver.

Jose Reyes taking special effort to congratate Oliver completing the 12th.

The Mets at least taking this personally. There were a lot
of four letter words used after the numerous bad plate appearances.

A historic night (morning) for the Mets as they are swept by the Diamondbacks at Chase Field for the first time ever. Learning that the Mets have taken their futility to historic proportions is not a great day to start my day.

Next week the Genius will turn water into wine (and then go to the toilet to turn it back into water again.)

Can you imagine what last night would have been like if they hadn't met?

Mets called a closed door team meeting. Not sure about the content, but its likely about not getting swept in AZ. #Metsneedawin
