Thole a smart kid to be hanging out with Dickey on the bench -- why yes, I am his personal catcher, keep me on the roster.

Millar on Cora: This guy. You need. On your ball club. On winning teams.[/quote:uwcrhk2f]

So Hinske, Barajas, Cora.. remind me not to suggest Millar replace Minaya.

Adam Rubin says that word in the clubhouse is that the Mets might open the 2011 season against the Marlins in Puerto Rico. Nothing against Puerto Rico, but after watching Reyes get hurt on the artificial turf, how can they agree to this?[/quote:tijxw5db]

They don't have a lot of a choice, unfortunately. After compliance with the basic agreement, team conflicts and preferences, etc. there's not a lot of room to move stuff around.

But why does have it be the Mets, other than the fact that they're awesome. Let the Phillies have the opportunity to enjoy mofongo and tour the Bacardi factory... and have the 4+ hour flight back.

I strongly feel that the visitor's clubhouse air conditioning system at Citi Field should magically "break" everytime the Marlins are in town.

$$$$. Seriously. Between the Mets' Puerto Rican players and the thousands of Puerto Ricans who are Mets fans in NY and in Miami, it makes sense. Ben Grimm's trip to Puerto Rico this past month has me thinking of a road trip to see the Mets in PR if they play there in 2011.

That was great -- Pagan was doubling to second live (or live-ish, since the radio is well ahead of the Foxcast) and then they cut to the between inning tape of Manuel, and Pagan was walking in front of the dugout. That Angel, he's everywhere!

Save money and just visit Ben Grimm.

That was a home run at Shea.

(I say that about every deep fly ball that doesn't go out of Citi, conveniently forgetting there weren't that many home runs flying out of Shea.)

Yes, it's a fucking nightmare having to choose between the guy hitting the beejeezus out of the ball and playing better defense and the guy who brings a large smile and a .306 OBP to the ballpark.

I mean, Pagan's 2-2 in the game you're watching. But, hey... it's hard to sit that arm and smile.

Oh, for fuck's sake.

Big city markets get All-Stars elected. Just ask Evan Longoria and Ryan Braun.

Oh, Young Padawan Ike. You have much to learn, yet.

This series sure is looking like the inverse of the last home tilt with the Braves, no?

Ha, Foxhead thinks bunts in the air are acceptable if done correctly.

How about YOU SHOULD NEVER BUNT A BALL IN THE AIR!

Nice try by Davis.

Good Pelfin', right there.

8 stranded in 4 innings for the braves, lets stop allowing baserunners before bad things happen

I am the Braves. I fall before the Pelf.

Pelfdini escapes...again![/quote:3nx6zxrt]

All the tougher a trick, considering he's getting the tea-sandwich strike zone: edges cut off.
