Of course, Jerry will likely make a tactical decision so profoundly stupid and senseless it will make the Brewers playing without a shortstop look brilliant by comparison.**I realize that Escobar is actually the shortsop batting in the 9 spot after the pitcher, Wolf. It wopuld appear that Macha has been around La Genius too much. Edited May 30, 2010 by Guest
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 The Mets load the bases to open the game on a Reyes double and walks to Castillo and Bay. The Mets score one on a sacrifice fly from Wright.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Weeks hits a home run to lead off the bottom.I'm concerned about the days when the knuckleball isn't knuckling.

Guest themetfairy Guests Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 I once saw Wolf homer twice in a game when he was with Philly. So it's not as ridiculous a notion batting him 8th as it might otherwise seem.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 (edited) Everyone must be enjoying the nice holiday weather.Nutshell so far:Dickey: GoodLuis: two-run single, good.Pagan: Two-run homer, good!Jeff Suppan: Bad for Brewers, which is good for us!Ricky Weeks: Good for Brewers, which is bad for us. G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 I am surprised that my confidence can be so easily shaken by the removal of R.A. Dickey.
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Zut alors-- the game's 4th Frenching! Et avec insurance runs!
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 And Jose tacks on another. If I were Ian O'Connor and I could get in Santana's head, I'd be thinking, "Would have been nice to have had some of this run support..."
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Braddock, IIRC something Howie said earlier, had warmed up 4 separate times before coming into the game. Now, he's just recorded his first out, 7 batters into the inning... an inning in which Gary Matthews, Jr. batted.Watching these two guys manage this series has been like watching brain-damaged orangs play human chess.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Frankie in to finish things out.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Frankie got two after an endless at-bbat by Jon Lucroy.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Not the kind of a laugher that the final score would indicate. But yes, a win!
Guest LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Guests Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Stultifying and satisfying, all at once, innit?
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Got to watch this one outdoors with grilled goodness. Nice to see a laugher
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 We listened on XM for about 2/3 of the game, driving from Corning back to home. Glad to hear them playing well and Frenchy knocking the ball around.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 has there ever been an IGT as short as this?
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Was checking score by phone at another kids b-day party (they're the new weddings, doncha know). Proud that they pulled it out and pulled away, Dickey is my man.
