G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 Pop flies? Hellzapoppin'!I once saw Matt Franco score from first on a windblown pop fly ... at Shea ... in early May ... against the Giants.

TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 I do hope they come back to win this one, but I don't think they've done much to earn it.Walks kill.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 That AB was well worth using up your bench. Excellent managing.

Cause Jerry "Randolph" Manuel had to waste an out, all the worse with Catalanotto due up.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2010 Author Posted May 9, 2010 Frank Catalanotto is the item in an infomercial that is the frustrating, useless tool that desperately needs replacing. I can't wait to see what miracle product will take his place and makes our lives immeasurably better.
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 What a surprise. The Mets don't score in the same inning that Jerry Randolph puts on the sac bunt. I don't understand why the booth went on and on about "The Book" and playing for the tie at home and how Jerry was engaging in a one-run strategy. Because in "My Book" sac bunting is a no-run strategy.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Jerry used up an out with Pagan bunting from his stronger side against a pitcher that just walked the lead-off batter. Then, he puts in Blanco--good--but PHs for him after the Giants counter Blanco with their closer. If Jerry had just left Cat. into bat against the lefty set-up guy, he could have struck out and left the Mets with a bench and kept Wilson out of the game.
