metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 What to do with Brad Lidge , per yahooRHP Brad Lidge's first rehab appearance was not encouraging. Pitching for high Class A Clearwater on Saturday night, Lidge gave up four runs on three hits and a walk in two-thirds of an inning. He is rehabbing from offseason elbow surgery, and he suffered a setback during the last week of spring training, when he had a cortisone shot on his ailing right arm.(Yahoo! Sports)I'd dump him but the RP list is not all that encouraging and whomever I pick up could hurt me more than the idle Lidge.Vic , sorry I didn't get back to you in a timely fashion regarding the trade proposal(you cancelled it anyway)
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I'm happy thus far -- I'm a little lean on power but I have good pitching and other hitting categories.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2010 Author Posted April 11, 2010 A good true middle reliever with good SO numbers would be worth picking up? , not that thee are nay out there.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 In this deep of a league you can probably still find relievers who'll lower your ERA and WHIP, if nothing else. It wouldn't be the worst use of your last few roster spots. I recommend having a less itchy trigger finger with them than I generally practice myself, though.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2010 Author Posted April 13, 2010 I dropped by 20 points today...WTF Guss?
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Whomever bitched when I took out two hitting positions per roster... you can see even after that move that there is NO help on the wire, hitters-wise. I'm glad that I'm not trying to field still two more hitters every night.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 I never before used the "Stat Tracker" thing , it's a great way to see real time scores for your team and league, especially when the mets are sucking.

smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2010 Posted April 19, 2010 Since Ike isn't listed among the eligible players yet, how is that going to work? I'm guessing he'll get listed tomorrow if he plays tonight? And then there will be the same two-day bidding period that normally comes with waivers?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 19, 2010 Author Posted April 19, 2010 I'm going go $19:95.My season is circling the drain already.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 So nobody likes Ike as much as I do?

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 On the flip side, I bet we could pick up Daniel murphy real cheap now..
Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 [bragging]I had Edwin Jackson starting tonight.
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Congrats on the ho-hitter.Now if only we can get a Met to pitch one.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2010 Author Posted June 28, 2010 This is what I dislike about rotisserie leagues, you start out bad and you are done for the season, it's a fight to stay out of last place.

It's especially rough in NL only, because try as I may, there just aren't very many 'diamonds' to find that haven't been snatched up.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2010 Author Posted June 28, 2010 Yeah , I've not enjoyed the NL at all...I picked up Willis to start against St. Louis.....desperate much?
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2010 Posted June 28, 2010 oh stop whinin', the lot `o youse. we're all just 1 injury away from disaster in this league... much like real teams.
