Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 Voting for the middle game of the mid-week blankfest against the Phillies will close over the weekend. Only seven voters so far (themetfairy, Benjamin Grimm, Edgy DC, Ashie62, G-Fafif, John Cougar Lunchbucket, and Fman99), which is kind of light for a Mets win. If you have votes still to cast, please try to get them in today.Schaefer POTG 5/26/10 - Mets 5, Phillies 0This month's race is especially tight. After today's tallying, there is less than a full point separating the top five contenders for Player of the Month. (The first-place guy has 15.37 points, and the fifth-place guy has 14.42.) There's no suspense about the Reliever of the Month, but two contenders for Pitcher of the Month; Johan Santana has his fate in his own left arm as he takes the mound in Milwaukee tonight.Look for POTM announcements at the end of next week.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 Voting for the final game of last week's shutout sweep of the Phillies will close on Wednesday morning.Schaefer PotG, 5/27, Mets 3, Phillies 0I'll post an announcement with links tomorrow, but you can expect the entire weekend series in Milwaukee to close for voting on Thursday. Vote while you still can!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Our traditional "Wacky Wednesday" is delayed this week because of the extended weekend. As a result, four (count 'em! four!) games will be closing on Thursday. All three games from the weekend series in Milwaukee will be tallied, as well as the series-opening loss Monday night in San Diego. This will close out the merry month of May, so look for the big POTM announcement tomorrow. Pitcher of the Month and Reliever of the Month appear to be set, but the overall award for Player of the Month is very much in play, with about a half dozen players in contention. Please try to get any remaining May votes submitted today.Schaefer POTG 5/28/10 - Brewers 2, Mets 0Schaefer POTG 5.29.10 - Brewers 8, Mets 6Schaefer POTG 5/30/10 - Mets 10, Brewers 4Schaefer PotG 5/31/2010, Padres 18, Mets 6

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 The reason I have stopped voting has nothing to do with what anyone thinks, and I think this is one of the koolest things that you guys do at this sight.Maybe the koolest.I stopped because I would take it too serious in my own mind.I'd print out the stats and go over em and try to cut em up just right. It became an agonizing thing to me.If you saw my comment about my head exploding last week, it was not a total joke. But I have not been well lately.I hope when I'm feeling better I get back into this.Cause its one of the things that makes the Pool what it is.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2010 Posted June 4, 2010 Voting for Wednesday night's 11-inning loss to the Padres in San Diego will close over the weekend, perhaps as early as Saturday morning. Guest Kong76 Guests Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 I just dipped my big toe in the water tonight, sorry for it's appearance, the whole nail really should come off but i haven't gotten to a podiatrist.I just re-read this whole thread ... ya gotta laugh. Laugh, dammit.I only did one game, hope no one scoffs me and scares me awaybefore I do Sat and Sun on the off day tomorrow.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 DPD: Kong, how can you diss Wright for that play in theninth and give all that beer to Dickey for chrisakes?Kong: Ramirez didn't hustle, Wright's play was all that much.DPD: You always overload on the starting pitcher.Kong: Yeah, I'm a dickey that way.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Keep in mind that Dickey earned some beer with his bat as well as his pitching, so he's not exactly being overloaded for a very good-but-not-fantastic pitching performance.
Guest Kong76 Guests Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 See, sometimes we forget and vote subliminally. I was at that game.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2010 Posted June 8, 2010 Voting for all three games from this past weekend's Citi Field sweep of the Marlins will close on Wednesday morning. Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Voting for Tuesday night's 11-inning walkoff win over the Padres will close on Friday morning. Ten voters so far, which means that at least two of the people who voted the Marlins sweep haven't yet voted on this game. I'm not going to try to figure out who's missing, but YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!Schaefer POTG 6/8/10 - Mets 2, Padres 1

Schaefer POTG 6/8/10 - Mets 2, Padres 1Yes it's obvious who you mean seeing as how only one Feliciano actually played in that game, but (for reminders and newbies) the tallying for this project is an automated process so you need to specify PFeliciano or JFeliciano.By the same token, there's only one Rodriguez on the squad so don't send the counting program into a frenzy looking for the Met whose name starts with FRodri... it won't find him.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 Voting for both ends of last Thursday's day-night double-header split with the Padres at Citi Field will close on Tuesday morning. metirish Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Apologies for my erratic voting , my work now has me covering in a different lab with little access to the internet, not as easy for me to get on it from there.....
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Caught up here.So what's more work --- tabulating our votes or reminding us to vote?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Please remember to include the first initial when voting for Mets named Feliciano. Both Pedro and Jesus appeared in the June 13 game in Baltimore, and two voters simply voted for "Feliciano" and I had to, sadly, disregard their votes.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Voting for Tuesday night's victory over the Indians in Cleveland will close on Friday morning.Schaefer POTG 6/15/10 - Mets 7, Indians 6WE STILL HAVE SOME VOTES FOR "FELICIANO" THAT ARE MISSING A FIRST INITIAL!PLEASE GET INTO THE HABIT OF VOTING FOR PFELICIANO OR JFELICIANO!Since Jesus Feliciano didn't play in this game, I know that the votes are for Pedro, but that won't always be the case. I'd hate to have to discard ambiguous votes like I had to for one of the games in Baltimore. Please go back and edit your votes.Thank you!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Voting for Wednesday night's win in Cleveland will close over the weekend, perhaps as early as Saturday morning.
