MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2010 Author Posted March 2, 2010 I just don't want the world to end with the Yankees having won the last World Series of all time.Later
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 "The massive 8.8 earthquake that struck Chile may have changed the entire Earth's rotation and shortened the length of days on our planet, a NASA scientist said Monday."As long as that lost time is applied either to the part of the day where Chris Berman has sole possession of a microphone or to the airing time of 'The View' I think it'll all be worth it in the long run.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2010 Author Posted March 3, 2010 That got me thinking about other positives about the Earth falling into the sun.Since Yankee fans are already flaming assholes, that would toast the rest of their bodies.Later
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 I heard a story about this on the radio this morning. Apparently they can't actually confirm whether or not the day was shortened, but if it was, it was by about .000001 seconds. It would be much more interesting if the day was shortened by about five minutes or so. Would we have to adjust clocks? Calendars? Computers? It's interesting to imagine how the world would have to react to such a thing.Plus, we'd all get to leave work at 4:55! (Or 5:25, or...)
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 3, 2010 Author Posted March 3, 2010 Yeah, but then we'd have to get up five minutes earlier to get to work on time.I'll vote for the .0000000001 seconds (or whatever).Later
