Which one of these two former top of the rotation starters coming off a serious injury would you rather see in Citifield?

Also, do you think that the Mets can/will grab one of these two while also picking up one of the Piniero/Garland/Davis/etc. group (barring a trade for Arroyo/Zambrano/Harang)?

Would you rather have a dry-aged porterhouse, or a really good Steak-umm sandwich? What if I told you the Steak-umm would run you $1.50, while the porterhouse would cost you $100 and might give you salmonella?

I think probable price difference would have a lot to do with which one Met fans would prefer. I'm not sure it's as interesting a question without that factored in.

i'd like to see what they can get out of Sheets on the cheap, most of all because it won't hurt the budget before the Free Agent Class of 2010-11

Heard someplace that Sheets is getting ready to throw for teams "in the next few weeks" -- so maybe mid-January I reckon.
Assuming he looks halfway decent then, that's not too late to get him a contract and into camp by reporting time but it doesn't exactly leave a lot of wiggle room either.
But, in the meantime, any thoughts, hopes, bids, contracts, etc., on him are going to be on hold for a little while longer.

Let me reframe the question:

Sheets at, say, 1 yr/10 million guaranteed*

OR

Wang at 1 yr/2 million plus MASSIVE incentives (3M, say).

Does your answer change?

*His agent appears to be holding firm at 12M at present.

Well, yeah, my answer would change. It seems awfully foolish to guarantee $10 million or $12 million to Sheets. If he gets it, good for him, but I imagine that he'll have to reduce his demand quite a bit before he gets signed.

and you can't forget that Wang will most likely not be able to pitch till at EARLIEST May.
