Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 As Tom's plaque says, from lovable losers to formidable foes. But if we could only award a player on decade, I'd pick Kranepool for Mr. 60s.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I was hesitant to vote for Seaver here (as opposed to in the 1970's) because he only played three seasons in the 1960's. But then again, it was a short decade (only eight years) and in his three seasons, Seaver won a Rookie of the Year award and a Cy Young award, not to mention a World Series ring.Seaver it is.For the record, my five POTD's are: Seaver, Seaver, Hernandez, Alfonzo, and Wright.
RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 Kranepool WAS the Mets. And this isn't the See Vair forum.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Cleon would have been my second choice.I definitely considered him. He had more years than Seaver, but I felt I had to vote for the ROY/Cy Young guy.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Kranepool was my only choice. I guess I didn't fully appreciate how much time he spent in the minors. Really, though, the top four are pretty close. But I imagine nobody had Swoboda as number two.
