Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Davey and Hunt, and I would listen to arguments about Sid.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Johnson, Fernandez, Hunt, Mazzilli.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 This is a strong group. In addition to my 4 (Hunt, Johnson, Noble, Mazzilli) I'd consider Sid and Trachsel (isn;t he the winningest Met of the 00s or something?

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Surprised to see Hurt and Likely Bruised Ron Hunt running second in this group.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Sid, Davey, Mazzilli, Hunt. Would have loved to have snuck Ventura in there, but he was tackled by his teammates at second.
dgwphotography Old-Timey Member Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Davey is a no brainer. Marty is tougher - I think he deserves to be in, but that can't be done until after he retires from the beat.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I'm not sure why retirement should be a pre-requisite, especially for guys with the type of job they can keep doing until forever.Similarly, I don't think it's necessary to withold a vote for Valentine because you want him back to. Nothing wrong with a Hall of Famer continuing to work or returning to work.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Hunt, first AS..no Marty Noble..Already voted for lang or my era
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Davey, Davey Johnson, the only one I voted for here. Ron Hunt was close, but he was only around for three years.

I think Bobby is a not quite yet - He would need to add to his credentials to be put in, and I want them to hire him back. Two separate things, actually. As for Marty, I'm thinking retirement would be a pre-requisite for the same reason that some papers don't allow their writers to vote on post-season awards. There could be a sense of a conflict of interest.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Well, I hear you, but he's got no conflict with us. We's independent.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 He wasn't around nearly long enough.
